Damiana, a shrub that smells a lot like chamomile is native to the Caribbean, Mexico, Central, and South America. It has been used for hundreds of years as a relaxant by the Native Americans and aphrodisiac by the Mexicans as recorded by Spanish missionaries. The common name damiana derives from the Greek daman or damia, which means 'to tame or subdue.

Damiana is well recognized for its tonic, stimulant, nervine, bitter, astringent, and aphrodisiac properties. It contains compounds that are very similar to coffee hence, its stimulating and aphrodisiac effects are justified. It is also known to be extremely effective in boosting stamina and mental focus.

People using it felt calm, very focused, found problems easy to solve and decisions easy to take. The brain feels clear and suddenly all solutions pop into your mind just like that.

This herb has been primarily used as an aphrodisiac for both genders. It increases the blood flow in the genital area thereby increasing the sensitivity in the area manifold. It may also give a feeling of “high” or extreme euphoria at times.

Damiana is also effective as an anxiolytic, i.e. helps treat and control anxiety.

The herb is in some cases, used to treat prostate problems; when doing so it is normally mixed with Saw palmetto – another potent medicinal herb recommended for prostate.

Recommended Dosage
◉ 1-3 teaspoons of loose tea (or 3g up to 3 times) daily. If more than one herbal mixture is consumed at the same period of time, reduce the amount of tea accordingly.

- If you choose to take it for 3 weeks, have a one-week pause.
- If it is taken for a 30-day period, have a 10-day pause.
That does not apply to herbs and fruits that have a laxative effect.

Notes
◉ Should be stored in airtight glass containers -in a cool, dark, and dry place- to preserve the flavor, texture, and properties.
