Fresh Bee Pollen
Pollen is harvested from plant anthers and combined with salivary gland secretion or nectar before being deposited in special baskets (called corbiculae) on the tibia of bees' back legs.
Bees acquire pollen from the same plant most of the time, although they can also collect pollen from a variety of plants. Pollen grains vary in form, color, size, and weight depending on the plant species.
After collecting pollen, it is transported to the hive and stored in honeycomb cells. The gathered pollen is then wrapped in a thin coating of honey and wax, resulting in "bee bread."
