Gum Arabic
Gum arabic, often known as acacia gum or acacia powder, is a fibrous substance produced from the natural hardened sap of two wild Acacia tree species. Gum arabic is also known as acacia gum, Arabic gum, acacia powder, Senegal gum, Indian gum, and various names across the world.
Gum arabic may be a source of prebiotics and soluble fiber, as well as feeding good bacteria (probiotics) in the gut, enhancing fullness and satisfaction, and alleviating IBS symptoms and constipation, thanks to its high fiber content.
Gum Arabic's composition allows it to dissolve in both cold and warm water, making it versatile. It's ideal for vegans and vegetarians because it's made from natural, plant-based ingredients.
Use
Gum arabic powder is most commonly used in the making of soft beverages, as well as in cooking and baking, to maintain product texture, enhance liquid viscosity, and aid in the rise of baked goods such as cakes.
Notes
◉ Powders should be stored in airtight glass containers -in a cool, dark, and dry area- to preserve their flavor and properties.
