Caper (Capparis Spinosa)


Capers are pickled flower buds from the shrub-like species "Capparis spinosa" that are dried in the sun and then brined or packed in salt long before they ever blossom.

Dried caper is valued for the burst of Mediterranean flavor, texture, and tanginess it gives to dishes.

Ideal for spicing up pasta sauces or using as a garnish on bruschetta and/or salads. Chicken piccata, crostini with salmon and cream cheese, pasta puttanesca, pizzas, grilled fish, stews, or beef are just a few examples.
BONUS TIP: Simply soak the capers for 15 minutes in water. After that, they're all set to go!

◉ Buds should be stored in airtight glass containers -in a cool, dark, and dry area- to preserve their flavor and texture.
