Cumin Seeds (Cuminum Cyminum) - Organic

Cumin is a popular spice that is native to areas in the Middle East and India, and it has been used for centuries as both a flavoring agent and a preservative, even by Greeks and Romans.

Some believe cumin benefits the body and can even boost weight loss. Rich in iron, potassium, and zinc, cumin is often considered to have health-boosting properties.

Cumin has a deeply earthy, fragrant flavor with a bit of both sweetness and bitterness, that makes everything from Indian curries and rice to chili and falafel sing. It comes in whole seeds, that are small, boat-shaped, resemble caraway seeds, or ground form, and is an essential part of a well-stocked spice cabinet.

Cumin is a spice that may be found in a variety of ethnic cuisines, including Eastern Indian, Mexican, and Southwest American meals. Make your own Indian Masala or Curry Blends using it. To season chili or enchiladas, combine with ground Dried Chile Peppers.
BONUS TIP: Cumin seeds should be roasted first in a dry frying pan to liberate their flavor, then utilized whole or crushed after cooled, if you require a powder for your recipe.

◉ Seeds should be stored in airtight glass containers -in a cool, dark, and dry area- to preserve their flavor.
◉ Ideally used with a pepper mill, electric spice grinder, or a mortar and pestle.
