Propolis Tincture
Propolis solution 30% v/v in ethanol.
The propolis used for the tincture is produced in Akrotiri, Chania.
Propolis has antimicrobial / anti-fungal properties, anti-inflammatory properties (such as inflammation of the larynx and the respiratory system), immune properties (stimulates and enhances the immune system), antiviral properties, antioxidant properties, healing, and anesthetic.
- Pharyngitis, bronchitis, rhinitis, and external otitis
- Small intestine infections, stomach, and ulcers.
- Gingivitis, periodontitis, and oral cavities.
- Fungi, burns, itching, wounds, eczema, and dermatitis
- Arthritis and hemorrhoids or fungi
Suggested dosage
5 drops a day (2 drops for children) for five days in order to make sure there is no allergic reaction to Propolis. Then, it is suggested to take 8-10 drops, up to 3 times per day (4 to 6 drops daily for children).
Propolis can be taken directly or it can be dissolved in water or juice (20ml)
Direct intake is suggested in case of sore throat (10-15 drops for adults) or gargle with propolis in water.
You can take propolis for two months straight but then it is suggested to cease use for 1 month and then start again. Alternatively, you can take propolis for the first 15 days of each month.
CAUTION! Propolis can stain surfaces and fabrics thus making them difficult to clean. Bleach or pure alcohol might help in removing stains.
Keep in a cool and dark place or in the fridge.
