"The Divine Artemisia" Book by Anna Lord
The Divine Artemisia" by Anna Lord delves into the historical and medicinal significance of the Artemisia plant, named after the goddess Artemis. The book explores its ancient uses, cultural importance, and the efforts to conceal its healing properties over time.
Abstract: There is a plant with the name of a Goddess. For centuries men have been trying with all their might to conceal the knowledge surrounding this plant and her incredible healing powers. Her story is as old as time itself. I knew nothing of her until about three years ago when I accidentally heard the name for the first time. Little did I know that my research would take me back in time, to study ancient manuscripts and to read about tales of dragon blood, wars, witch hunts and monasteries full of hand painted manuscripts and herbal gardens. Through my research I have travelled to ancient Greek, Egyptian and Roman temples and witnessed the ancient rites to the Goddess. She was revered in ancient China and on the mountains of the mighty Himalayas, the native Americans knew her name well, as did the nomadic Mongolian horse riders. Potions, tinctures, oils and leaves carried by nomadic merchants would travel the world in the old days. But that was before the rift, when a few men decided that they wanted a monopoly on cures. The truth cannot be hidden forever and I sincerely wish that this book will shed some light on hirstory and return her to her rightful place as the Queen of herbs, a gift from nature for all of humanity.
