Ginseng is commonly used to enhance mood and alleviate stress, as well as to improve brain function, memory, alertness, and energy levels, which is why it is frequently used in energy drinks. Ginseng is an anti-inflammatory and a natural appetite suppressant, making it a valuable natural ally when embarking on a weight-loss and fitness program. It can also improve lung function by reducing cystic fibrosis-causing bacteria. It's also used to treat diabetes and sexual/erectile dysfunction in males, as well as reduce blood sugar and cholesterol levels. It's also used as a natural therapy for depression and anxiety, as well as chronic fatigue. It has been shown to strengthen the immune system, combat infections, and alleviate menopausal symptoms.

Use
Tuck a tiny piece of dried ginseng root into your cheek to boost your energy levels and alertness throughout the day. Rather than chewing on it, gently press it between your molars or between your tongue and the roof of your mouth. You may eat this small piece all day or throw it away when it loses its flavor. Use no more than one piece each day, around the size and thickness of your pinkie nail, otherwise, you may experience insomnia, nervousness, dizziness, and a racing pulse.

In cooking, you may simmer a few pieces of ginseng root in a broth for about an hour.  This will add flavor without the addition of salt.  The piece of ginseng root can either be left in the soup or pulled out before serving. You may also place a piece of the dried root in a jar of honey to balance out the sweetness and boost its health benefits.

Recommended Dosage
◉ 1-3 teaspoons of loose tea (or 3g up to 3 times) daily. If more than one herbal mixture is consumed at the same period of time, reduce the amount of tea accordingly.
◉ When herbs are used for an extended period of time, it is suggested to consume a herbal remedy with a ratio of 3 to 1. For example:
- If you choose to take it for 3 weeks, have a one-week pause.
- If it is taken for a 30-day period, have a 10-day pause.
That does not apply to herbs and fruits that have a laxative effect.

Notes
◉ Should be stored in airtight glass containers -in a cool, dark, and dry place- to preserve the flavor, texture, and properties.
◉ Before adding a new herbal remedy or supplement to your daily routine, you should consult with a medical doctor or holistic health practitioner.
