The olive tree (Olea Europea) is native to the Mediterranean region, Asia and Africa. A symbol of peace and goodness, the leaves were used to make crowns for the victors of the Olympic games.

Olive leaves have been recognized for their medicinal value since ancient days. Egyptians called it “heavenly powder”. At that time it was used to treat cardiac conditions, weak immune systems, and decreased energy levels. In ancient Egypt, the leaves were also used in the mummification process of the pharaohs.

In the early 18th century, the medicinal powers of the leaves were re-discovered. Green leaves were used for treating fevers, and later on malaria. Modern science put the Olive leaves under scrutiny and studies showed that these indeed have the power to fight against bacteria, retroviruses, viruses, and anything that these can cause. Conditions that respond well to treatment of Olive leaves extract/ tea are achy joints, toothaches, painful hemorrhoids, sudden cravings, improved wound healing, heartbeat problems, and skin problems such as psoriasis.

While the leaves offer many health benefits, it has no untoward side effects, which makes them easier to use for many viral and bacterial infections. Olive leaves also exhibit febrifugal, antiseptic, and astringent properties, which help with heart health and longevity.

- If it is taken for a 30-day period, have a 10-day pause.
That does not apply to herbs and fruits that have a laxative effect.
