Cultivated in our Biodynamic Garden.

Spearmint or greenmint (Mentha Spicata Syn. Viridis) has the most distinctive mint flavor, which is similar to Peppermint. It includes active molecules called menthol and carvone, which are found in greater quantities in spearmint than in peppermint and are responsible for the sweeter flavor.

Stress reduction, improved memory or sleep, pain relief, help with digestive issues such as nausea or diarrhea, soothing sore throats or coughs, and decreasing chest congestion or flatulence are all benefits of this plant. Based on current studies, it also looks to have anti-cancer and antibacterial properties, as well as being a moderate sedative and potentially beneficial as a before-bed tea to help relax.

When put in drawers, dried spearmint leaf sachets or wrapped dried mint branches for garments in closets help keep moths away. Finally, it is commonly used in candies, chewing gum, toothpaste, and mouthwashes mainly because of its cooling effect.

Use
◉ For culinary use, spearmint is frequently used in savory dishes, salads, fruits, herbal drinks, and mint jelly.
◉ Candied carrots, oven-roasted potatoes, grain salads, and stuffing for fowl or veggies are all good suggestions.
◉ In Greek cuisine to flavor dishes such as cucumber salad, tomato keftedes, stuffed tomatoes, keftedakia, stuffed zucchini flowers, and dolmades, to mention a few.
◉ Last but not least, it makes for an incredibly refreshing herbal tea, especially if you follow our step-by-step guide on how to get its greatest flavor!!!

Recommended Dosage
◉ 1-3 teaspoons of loose tea (or 3g up to 3 times) daily. If more than one herbal mixture is consumed at the same period of time, reduce the amount of tea accordingly.
◉ When herbs are used for an extended period of time, it is suggested to consume a herbal remedy with a ratio of 3 to 1. For example:
- If you choose to take it for 3 weeks, have a one-week pause.
- If it is taken for a 30-day period, have a 10-day pause.
That does not apply to herbs and fruits that have a laxative effect.

Notes
◉ Should be stored in airtight glass containers -in a cool, dark, and dry place- to preserve the flavor, texture, and properties.
◉ Before adding a new herbal remedy or supplement to your daily routine, you should consult with a medical doctor or holistic health practitioner.
